Selected works made by students of the Jewellery and Metal (JaM) programme at the Royal College of Art, 2025/26, seek to respond to contemporary themes around ideas or re-search, well-making, digital materialities, narratives, making meaning, and metal. Although a continually moving range of interests, the students draw on notions of cultural identity, temporality, materiality, emergence/complexity and preciousness. Students are encouraged to think through the artefact, as well as the complex possibilities of performance, identity, and wearability/symbiosis/intra-activity that ground the conceptual identity of jewellery. Other aspects of their creativity deal with elemental matters: finding meanings that are affective, personal, hopeful, and objectively subjective.

Selected graduates JaM/RCA

Jewellery offers us the opportunity to understand our relationship with things that surround us. Metal makes up more than 80% of the periodic table, offering limitless potential for innovation in material possibilities. The MA Jewellery and Metal at the RCA in London provides academic expertise across craft, design, and fine art within a world-leading school of the arts, fostering creativity and experimental making. Studying this programme, you’ll explore the intersections of the social, technological, art and science; merging the material and immaterial, and the digital and analogue.
